To be fair: Bulgaria is not the easiest country to visit for a vegetarian. The Bulgarians love their fair share of meat (and cheese and yoghurt). But Plovdiv is a delight for many vegetarians, with the many vegetarian and even vegan friendly restaurants in the city. I have visited Plovdiv often in the last 5 years and although some hotspots have closed, there are still plenty to discover as a vegetarian in Plovdiv.
