8 Hot Springs In Bansko & Surroundings That You Want To Visit

What’s nicer than relaxing in some hot water after a day on the slopes or hiking through the mountains? Bansko is all about outdoor activities and being in nature, but it’s all about relaxing too! There is a reason why there are so many hot springs in Bansko and surroundings. In this article we’ll share multiple options where you can go when you’re in Bansko and want to relax.

In Bulgaria you can find hundreds of hot water springs and also the area of Bansko has many thermal springs. Most of the hot springs are situated in Banya, about 5 kilometers away from Bansko. Many hotels in Bansko distribute the hot water from Banya to Bansko though, so especially in winter there are many hotels where you can enjoy the thermal water near your accommodation.

A few hotels in Bansko that have spa & pool facilities for guests are:

  • Belvedere Holiday Club (open for hotel guests. Not open for non-guests in winter, in summer the outdoor pool is open for non-guests for 15 leva)
  • Aparthotel Lucky Bansko (included for hotel guests. Open for non-guests; 65 leva for a day pass for adults)
  • Kempinski Hotel (included for hotel guests. Open for non-guests; 70 leva for a day pass for adults)
  • Regnum Bansko (open for non-guests; hotel guests get a discount)
  • Green Life Bansko (should be open for non-guests, but double check when you want to go)

Last update & prices in this article are from May 2025.

8 Hot springs in Bansko & surroundings

1. Lucky Bansko Spa (Bansko)

Why I like Lucky Bansko: honestly it’s feels a bit weird to talk about the hot springs IN Bansko, when most of them are actually a few kilometers outside of Bansko. But Lucky Bansko is one of the hotels in town that has a wellness area with thermal pools and saunas. Money wise I think Therme Pulse in Banya offers more value for that price, but if you don’t want to travel outside of Bansko this is a good option.

There are multiple saunas, steam baths, a couple of pools (big and small), a jacuzzi and a cold plunge bath. In summer you can also use the outdoor pool across the street (in restaurant Leonardo).

Sauna: yes, multiple saunas and steam baths

Entrance fee: 65 leva for adults

Restaurant: in Lucky Bansko you find the restaurant Fondue, a perfect place to go to if you’re a cheese lover! The spa area also has a small bar for drinks and snacks.

Opening times: 8.00 – 20.00

Address: ulitsa Kir Blago Todev (you enter the hotel and ask for the spa access at the reception. The spa area is downstairs)

2. Villa Victoria (Banya)

Why I like Villa Victoria: this is my go-to hot springs if it’s later in the evening: Villa Victoria is one of the only hot springs that is open after 21.00. It’s not a big pool, but perfect for a late visit after work or dinner. There is one big pool where you can swim around and on the edges you can sit. There is also a smaller pool in the corner where the water is more hot. There is a restaurant as well, in case you want to combine it with lunch or dinner. Usually it’s couples and small groups without children, which has my preference because it creates a more relaxed and quiet environment.

Sauna: no, but apparently there is one inside the hotel for hotel guests

Entrance fee: 20 leva (€10) for the day

Restaurant: yes, next to the entrance where you pay

Opening times: 8.00 – 22.00 (sometimes they even stay open until 23.00)

Address: ulitsa 38-3, Banya

3. Izgreva (Banya)

Why I like Izgreva: the thermal baths of Izgreva are made of natural stones; it looks a bit nicer and more natural than the modern pools. You will find 3 pools here: a big pool to swim around, a smaller one to sit (or for kids) and one very hot one in the corner. Izgreva is perfect if you wanna combine hot springs with a nice dinner afterwards. Another thing that I like is that the changing rooms are separate for men and women.

Sauna: no

Entrance fee: 20 leva (€10) for the entire day

Restaurant: yes, at the entrance where you pay

Opening times: 8.00 – 21.00

4. Pulse Therme (Banya)

Why I like Pulse Therme in Banya: probably my favourite hot springs in Bansko and surroundings is Pulse Therme in Banya. This is a new place (opened in 2023) and they are still expanding with new saunas, pools and other options. It’s quite big and you can easily enjoy yourself here for an entire day. There are multiple saunas, steam baths (with cold plunges) and pools to swim around. One of my favourites is the hot-cold-pool. There is a big outside area to chill in the sun in summer as well.

There is a free shuttle going from Bansko to Therme Pulse. Another big plus is that you can use the gym at the entrance as well. The whole complex is quite modern and just very comfortable to spend the day. And last but not least: if you have a Bansko resident card you get a nice discount in Therme Pulse! Just show your resident card when you pay.

Sauna: yes, multiple saunas and steam baths

Entrance fee: 80 leva (€40) for the entire day / 60 leva (€30) for a 4-hour pass.

Restaurant: yes there is a restaurant and also an outside bar

Opening times: 9.00 – 21.00

Address: Nameless Street, 1902, in Banya (pat attention: there is also a Therme in Bansko, but this one is in Banya. They are currently working on Therme in Bansko and is probably opening later in 2025).

5. Regnum (Banya)

Why I like Regnum in Banya: Regnum is nice to visit with a group. There is a hot tub and a jacuzzi and the outdoor pool is quite big. There is also a sauna with a view on the pools and a steam bath. All in all I think it’s quite a relaxed and nice place to enjoy some hot springs in Bansko and surroundings. Where Regnum in Bansko is more focused on kids (slides and all), I feel Regnum in Banya is more for adults.

Sauna: yes, a sauna and a steam bath

Entrance fee: 40 leva (€20) for adults for the entire day / 25 leva (€12,50) for the afternoon

Restaurant: yes

Opening times: 10.00 – 20.00

Address: Ulitsa Koneshitsa 1, Banya

6. Alpha Spa & Pool (Dobrinishte)

Why I like Alpha: personally I am not a huge fan of this hot springs, since it’s popular among big groups and families with kids. So if you prefer a quiet place Alpha might not be your place. But if you are with a group or with kids this might be your perfect hot springs in Bansko! I do like it that you can use the sauna and the steam bath inside as well, it’s good value for that price.

Entrance fee: 15 leva (€7,50) for adults for the day

Restaurant: yes

Opening times: 9.00 – 21.00

Address: Ulitsa Desilitsa 1, Dobrinishte

7. Miro (Eleshnitsa)

Update 2025: the family sold the land including the hot springs, so it’s not clear what will happen with this place in the future, but for now you can still go here.

Why I like Miro: if you’re searching for a cheap and local hot spring Miro is your place. It’s difficult to get here without your own transportation, so if you don’t have a car I wouldn’t recommend this one. But it’s open 24/7. We once celebrated someones birthday here in the middle of the night, under a sky full of stars! Next to it there is the river where you can cool down.

Sauna: no (they are building one, but honestly not sure when that will be finished)

Entrance fee: 5 leva (€2,50). Only cash!

Restaurant: no

Opening times: basically 24/7. We went here a couple of times at night and that was fine. Just give the money to the family or leave it in front of the door (house on the opposite side of the road).

Address: next to road 1903 (tussen Banya en Eleshnitsa). This is the exact location on Google Maps.

8. Kempinski Spa (Bansko)

Why I like Kempinski Spa in Bansko: if you want to treat yourself and are searching for hot springs in Bansko you can also go to Kempinski. This fancy hotel also has a spa area. It’s mainly open for hotel guests, but as a non-guest you can buy an entrance pass by booking a treatment, like a massage.

There is much to discover in the Kempinski Spa and it’s very modern, so you can easily enjoy yourself here for a day with multiple pools (inside and outside), jacuzzis, saunas and steam baths. You can also use the gym for free if you want to. There is an ice room as well.

Sauna: yes, multiple ones

Entrance fee: 70 leva (€35) for adults or combine it with a treatment (facial, massage) to get the entrance for free. Most massages are 90-120 leva (€45-60), so could be nice when you want to treat yourself for a day.
